Lufthansa fly Docklands - Berlin from January 14th 2008
The German capital Berlin is the latest destination in Lufthansa’s growing network from London City Airport in Docklands. From 14th January, 2008, Lufthansa will operate twice daily non-stop flights to Berlin-Tegel (thrice daily from the start of the summer timetable), offering the fastest connection between the two city centres and increasing the total number of weekly Lufthansa flights out of the Docklands airport from 66 to 78 weekly. (84 as of March 2008) With a journey time of a little over 100 minutes, the new route will be operated by Lufthansa Regional partner, Eurowings, with British Aerospace BAe 146-200 jet aircraft seating up to 89 passengers. While the morning flight LH 4839 starts in London at 9:40 a.m. and arrives in Berlin at 12:25 p.m. (daily, except Sundays), the evening flight LH 4843 leaves the Docklands airport at 6:05 p.m. and touches down at 8:50 p.m. (daily, except Saturdays). (Flight LH 4838 leaves Berlin at 08:30 a.m. and arrives in London at 9:10 a.m. - daily, except Sundays, Flight LH 4842 leaves Berlin at 4:55 p.m. and arrives at 5:35 p.m. - daily, except Saturdays). Over the last years, Berlin has emerged as a leading centre for conference and exhibitions in Europe with more than 50 major trade fairs as well as numerous international conferences being held in the city each year. The city also hosts the European headquarters of numerous multinational companies. Lufthansa’s new non-stop flights will offer business travellers, particularly those based in Canary Wharf, the City, East London, and the surrounding Westminster and central London catchment areas, a fast, frequent and conveniently timed connection to Germany’s capital. The new flights can be booked online at www.lufthansa.com. One way fares in Economy Class start from £45.00, while return fares will be available from £79.00 (all including taxes and charges). Business Class return fares start at £729.00 (including taxes and charges).
